The Big Drive

Three hours to get to my parent's house for today. We're bringing my sister Cora home from college for the vacation; she stayed here overnight to facilitate the ease of this morning. No matter who's going, though, it's a three hour drive there.

We leave at nine, and if the roads aren't too bad (snow warnings from 7am until 6pm in this area) we should get there around noon. Thanksgiving dinner is at 1pm, so we'll have about an hour to kill visiting with my parents and whoever else may decide to come for dinner. I think it's supposed to be just my family except for my brother Andrew (who is currently serving our country in the Air Force) and my Uncle Rick who's going through some tough times right now.

After visiting, dinner at 1pm, dessert shortly thereafter, and a surprise visit from an aunt or uncle (I'm sure), we'll be heading home, minus Cora who is staying out there for a few days before my parents bring her back. Three hour car ride back home, with a winter weather advisory out there happening between 4pm until 9pm.

Happy eating day!

Thanks for the well wishes. We got there and back safely, with only a few moments of "Wow, where's the road?" It was a rather nice drive on the way there with very few cars on the road. The way back was a little bit more of a pain in the ass, but we obviously survived, and still got home before nine, which is a good thing.

Cora did definately sleep in the Cookie Monster room! I'm not sure she appreciates how absolutely frickin' awesome the blue shag is, but hey, she has to deal with her hang-ups on her own, man!

With the new windows in the room, it actually stays warm instead of allowing all the heat to leave in a matter of moments. Isn't it nice that we put all new windows on our house just for my sister?

How did your day go?
