Monsterous Morning

At 4:17 this morning, Monster yowled in fear. I turned on the light and jumped out of bed before even waking up to the point where I knew why I was getting out of bed. Good to know my zombie training hasn't been wasted.

She seemed fine, just a little nervous and tired. I'm guessing it was a bad dream. Since I was up anyway I let the girls out back for their morning rounds, and then headed back to bed.

At 6:30 my wife called me back into the bedroom (I got up at 6) because she thought Monster had thrown up. In fact, she had.

Hopefully the rest of Monster's day is better. That way the rest of MY day will be better as well.

May your day be better than Monster's morning.

Poor Monster. Did you give her some brown rice and a bit of shredded, cooked chicken? We used to give that to our border collies when they ate sheep poo and got upset tummies.

We didn't make her that, but I think she's okay. She used to throw up all the time due to some food allergies, but now that she's on the right food she's usually pretty good. I honestly think this might have just been a bad case of nerves or something. She seems perfect now.

If she does it again, however, I'll definitely be making her some rice and chicken.

Isn't it awful when they have nightmares? Poor Ernie is always unsettled for the rest of the night afterwards.

What do your girls usually eat? Ernie gets rice or barley has his staple at almost every meal: we make him a kind of stew with barley and carrots a few times a week, and add meat for dinner. I saw you mentioning rice as a treat above.

Thankfully our girls don't often have nightmares, but I always feel horrible when they do, sort of powerless to comfort them much.

Rice isn't so much a treat as it is something we make for them when they have upset tummies. We give all three of our girls Natural Balance Potato and Duck. It's not as good as making it for them from fresh ingredients, but it's one of the better store-bought kinds.

Also, since we're pretty sure Monster has a meat allergy (OESs are known for them), the duck is good since it's so different. No way I'm buying duck to cook for her every night. I don't eat that well! :)

Exactly.. like they're looking at you like, "you make everything else better, help me!" and you have no idea whats even really wrong.

Duck? Really? That's neat - I've never seen that around. She has good parents, lol.

Poor Monster! My girl has nightmares quite a bit too, never so much so that she puked though. Poor pup. I hope her day is better.

She seems to be doing better. She's chewing on her sissy right now, so that usually implies "happy" if nothing else. :)

LOL, well glad she could shake it off then. *grin*
