Saturday was a fantastic day, in just about every sense of that word that I can think of. I had a great time, playing a low-level character, running around the woods, trying to look just as powerful as the other characters. Role-play was surprisingly good, and the low parts are barely worth mentioning, so I won't.

I died once, got brought back by a God, lost both my limbs, and was again restored to full health at the end of the day. My character definately has stories to tell, and with over 50 people at the game, I have lots of people to share them with. I'll try to link to the pics when they're put up...

Last night, after talking about the Ultimate Wizardry Archives for the past few days (and obsessing like the Nintendo whore that I am,) I decided to crack open my old Nintendo and throw the original Wizardry in for a game or two. After creating my party, and heading into Boltac's Trading Post, the game blipped out on me, as Nintendo games tend to do.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't start back up properly. This is when I decided to take it apart and clean it. Now, after that, I have a very clean Nintendo, that still won't work. I wish I knew what to do, how to fix it, but it's twenty years old, and I'm starting to wonder if it's time to just let it go. Especially since it doesn't work, and I've tried all that I know to try to get it to work.

Suggestions?

Otherwise, things are good. I have to go do some dishes and laundry, then use a little bit of prep time to get ready for Dungeons and Dragons on Saturday with my friends, but that's not such a big deal, really. I usually don't prep more than "here are the monsters I want to use, and here's the ~general~ plot line I have in mind." After that, I let the PCs do pretty much whatever they want. If they take time talking with each other over stuff, the better it is because it makes it look like it's them holding up the game, and not me sitting there going "And..uhh...then..umm...things happen...rocks fall, everybody dies?"

Okay, so I'm not quite that bad, but it can feel like that sometimes. Hopefully every DM goes through that.

That's about it. Time to go do some dishes, get a little work around the house done, and generally feel good about myself. Then, with all that done, I get to go to work tonight! Yay work!

Just wish I could update livejournal from there. (Yeah, just so you know, that's why I never respond to comments between the hours of 6pm and 2:30am...I'm working, and they've outlawed livejournal.)

Quick question....ROMs and Emulators are perfectly legal if you own the system and the game, right?

Plus, I think Nintendo no longer holds an official patent (it ran out) on the NES hardware/software, which is why other companies are now coming out with systems to play old NES games, and not getting sued for it.

Wish I could find the link to that site where they talked about all this.

Umm...don't mind me, I'm just blathering on.
