Bad Things 1, Then 2, Waiting For 3
Oct. 13th, 2005 12:28 pmNo Ghosthunting today. I apoligize. I'm just not in the right place for it, mentally, today.
Tuesday, we went in to work and shortly there-after found out that our boss was "No longer with the company." They had a big 5 minute meeting, which they left us temps out of, but it was quickly disseminated through to us that our boss wasn't coming back.
Some of you out there, thinking of bosses you have, or have had, might not think this a bad thing. However, let me clear that idea from your mind. Mike, our boss, was very well liked by at least most of the employees, if not all. None of us know what happened, and are worried, both about him, and about who his successor will be.
On top of this, I may not be getting the permanent job at First Data. Yeah. On the application, I stated that I didn't have any criminal charges against me, and apparently that thing I did when I was eighteen years old, which was seven years ago, is still on my record. I had misunderstood some terminology (A conditional discharge, apparently doesn't mean that the case gets expunged after 1 year), and it's royally screwing me over.
They're not upset by the fact that I have a criminal record (it's a "violation," which is on par with running a fucking red light), but the security people believe I was trying to commit fraud against the company by stating that I didn't have a criminal past.
Yeah. So.
I'm waiting for the third thing. The saying is "Trouble always comes in threes" right?
