A Little Something For Everyone
May. 15th, 2006 10:06 amAll right, so it's Monday. Congratulations for making it through the weekend. I know it was rough, more people on the roads than normal, hard to find a place to eat if you were trying to go out, and all around crazy with lots of old women driving around too. It's like there was something special going on this weekend that I completely missed. Especially Sunday. Do you know how hard it was to get breakfast? I had to shove my way in front of like, 30 women and children. Don't they know they're supposed to eat at home with the family on Sunday?
Crazy people.
Anyways. Things are going pretty well. I put more hours in at work last week than I have for a month or so, which is really helpful with Maria's birthday coming up June 1st. With nice sized paychecks I can look into getting her the things she really wants, where as if I don't have the money I have to get her "sentimental" stuff, or "do stuff around the house" - pshaw!
Learning how to contact juggle is going well. (How's that for switching topics?) I can now walk around with a large ball held on the back of my hand between my three middle fingers before the fingertips but after the middle knuckle. That's, uh, about it. Maybe I need to pick up a book on the subject, instead of relying on a website that hasn't yet been updated past the first lesson? If I had stuck to lesson one of Klutz Juggling, I'd still be walking around throwing three beanbags into the air and letting them hit the ground.
See, you were going to be dropping them a lot, so they wanted you to get used to it.
Moving on.
I went to the game store on Saturday and bought 6 used computer games for under $20. It ends up that I can only play 4 out of the 6 being that my computer is too good to handle these other games. That makes no sense to me, of course, but I guess it happens.
The games that work:
Homeword by Sierra
Duke Nukem Manhattan Project
Diablo II
Star Wars Battlefrong
Yes, I'm a little behind the times. It saves me money to be so, and really doesn't diminish my fun at all. Nothing wrong with that, right?
The two that won't work?
Hitman Codename 47
~Apparently if I find a no-CD crack that will allow it to play on Windows XP, but there's something about sites that offer those that strike me as a little more than "seedy."
Independence War: Deluxe Edition
~Again, apparently there's away to make this work on my system, but it's REALLY involved, and I'm not sure I care to go through it all to get a 99 cent game to work. Anyone know this game? Is it worth it to go through a lot to play it?
I'm realizing that I'm really just talking to talk at this point. I'll write more later - about zombies!
