Hottest night of the year, and the fuse on the a/c blows. The last time I tried to fix the thing myself I ended up electocuting myself, and it's WAY too hot upstairs to sleep without some cool air. I don't do well in heat. What I do they call melting. Or at least it LOOKS like I melted when you see where I layed.
Yeah, that's gross, I know.
Last year we had a guy out here twice to fix the damned thing and he put in this little timer device that means we get blowing air for 3 to 5 minutes before the cold air machine (tm) kicks on and blows nice cold air into our house. This was supposed to fix it so that we don't blow a fuse again.
It worked through the whole winter at least.
...
I'm tired. Is there anyone in the area (I vaguely define "the area" as including everyone reading this) that has suggestions on how to change an air conditioning unit's fuse without destroying your brain with electricity?
I'm so gah(!) right now.
EDIT: To explain how gah(!) I am, let me sum up the scenario that just went through my head: I decided that I would fix it anyways, right now, by just sheer willpower and gumption. I thought "Hey, I'll just go get an A/C unit circuit breaker and install it myself." I then resolved to do so so that tomorrow morning I could tell Maria how productive I was at midnight.
It took me to almost getting to the car to see the huge gaping flaw in this plan.
At midnight.
No where that sells these things would be open at Midnight, Jeremiah. *sigh*
