Backwards Thinking

So I finally figured out why our dishwasher wasn't working well, and I'm still not sure why it's now working good even though I figured it out. Doesn't make sense, what I just said, does it? No? Well, that's because I'm still making sense of it.

What I'm trying to say is this: Since when did you have to put the glasses on the bottom, and the silverware up top in order for everything to get perfectly clean?

Or is that just me?
