Parental Inspection
Apr. 26th, 2008 03:42 pmMaria's parents (my in-laws) are coming to visit us, our puppies, and our new house on May 16th. By then, we want to repaint the bathroom, hallway, and guest bedroom, have the guest bedroom ready for people to sleep in, and generally have the house looking more how we want it to. Maria calls this day the "Parental Inspection Day."
This weekend we're tackling the smallest room in the house, the bathroom. We've stripped the wallpaper, removed everything off the walls that we need to paint under, and double-primed the walls with some KillZ primer. I'm the primer guy, and Maria's the painter, because I don't have a "fine hand," and I tend to streak. We figure the primer just needs to go on, and the paint needs to actually look nice.
Next weekend, we're tackling the hallway and the weekend after that, the guest bedroom.
We've already done some work on both rooms, removing most of the wallpaper from the hall and half the wood paneling from the bedroom. Today we purchased a new bed for us, and we'll be moving our old stuff into the guest room.
This house is becoming ours very quickly. It's nice to start to call it "home," as hokey as that is.
So, my weekends are busy for the next month. If anyone needs me, I'll be here, covering myself and the walls with primer. Whoo!
On that note, anyone know a good way to get paint off of human skin and hair? Thanks...
