Yeah, unfortunately I had the same problem. For some reason, a bunch of jackasses thought it was funny to hit all the livejournal sites that were talking about HP with huge comment posts that couldn't be missed.
However, I was fairly able to put it out of my mind for most of the book, thankfully. I didn't think about the argument thing until afterwards.
Here's hoping neither of us knows anything about the next book. :)
