Friends, Food, and Frags

Last night our Buffalo Dinner Club went to Dave and Buster's for dinner and games. See, D&B, as I'm going to call it, has a set up with a small restaurant, and a bigger Midway/Arcade.
Maria and I started by getting there early even though we originally thought we'd be showing up late. None of our friends were there, so we decided to play a few games in the Midway while we waited.
All I'm saying about that is that we both suck at shooting games. A lot.
Earl walked by after a short time, we played a little more (I won over 200 tickets with about 4 dollars spent total), and shortly there-after we met our other two friends, Derek and Kath, got a table, and waited a little while for Tim
The food for the price wasn't really worth it, unfortunately, though four out of the six of us decided to get the meal deals where you receive a $10 game card when you buy a $15 meal. Keeping this in mind still, however, I'd have to say that it wasn't quite worth it.
Afterwards, we said goodbye to Earl, who had some super-secret spy missions to run, and went back to my house for a LAN party. This is something I have been wanting to do for a while, and I think we were all looking forward to it. I know that a few of us were really looking forward to kicking each other's butts at Jedi Academy, a game where you get to use lightsabers and force powers. What could go wrong?
Well.
Strangely enough, while we could all share files, we couldn't all log on to one game all together. Two of us could connect at once, so if I was the dedicated server, Tim could connect to me, or if Derek was the server, Kath could connect to him, but nothing we did could even allow us to SEE the other's games.
It was weird.
Still, it was a good night. Hanging out with my friends, getting food that was okay with a waiter that I swear was on speed, and just getting together at my place with everyone but one person for a while was fun.
Now we just have to figure out if/when/where we're doing this next month.

Date: 2005-11-28 03:48 pm (UTC)Are you all playing on the 10th? If so, which game?
I may have company that day, but then again, I may not ;)
Lots of work I should be doing right now, so I guess I'll go do that :(
LAN Parties... I should avoid those, espeically as the Tech Support person ;)
