Brief Sunday Note
Dec. 10th, 2006 12:27 pmI think we've decided that it would be cheaper and easier to just make the house we're living in now to be the house we want than to find "the perfect house" to move to. This is going to take some money, time, and effort, but we've already put a lot of sweat into this house (and gotten others to do the same for us), what's a little more?
All it needs, to be the house that I want is:
A fireplace
A more useable kitchen
A "game room"
-with things to go in the game room
So, I figure, what? $1000, right? Including labor, maybe $2000?
A guy could hope anyways. Today we go to find out what we would need to spend to start on the road that we want to go with this house. I'm excited most about the fireplace, actually. I had one in an apartment once - an electric fireplace - and it was one of the nicest (was going to say 'coolest' but, well, it's a fireplace) features I've ever had. Just something about curling up in front of the fire with a good book. It does something for me.
As far as my game room goes, does anyone know where I can buy the sit-down version of the arcade Star Wars Trilogy, where you pilot X-Wings and fight Darth Vader? I used to be able to get high score and beat the game on one life. Don't ask how long it took me to get that good, or how much money. Trust me, I don't want to think about that part. I just love that game. Actually, does anyone know companies that sell full arcade-style games? I'm interested in doing a mini-arcade for myself some day, full with having to put quarters in the machine and everything. It'll be how I save money! Good idea, right?
