Tuesday 101 Update
Apr. 28th, 2009 08:50 amMy list can be found here.
Just the facts: Since 3/25/2009 I have completed 10 items from my 101 item-long list. That's rough 10% in 1 month.
Continuing this trend would mean I will be done within 300 days or so instead of the prescribed 1001 days. Signs point toward not continuing this trend, as many items take time and more effort than what I've done so far.
So right now here's what I'm actively working on:
Making 30 new food dishes - I've done 1 so far, and will be making at least one more dish this week that I haven't ever cooked before: Pho.
Perfecting pizza crust - A couple more tests and I should have the ingredients down perfect, and this will be crossed off. Testing today with a special yeast, and timing of the yeast.
Learn to make gnocci - It looks fairly easy, but I'm guessing that's deceptive.
Learn how to make pasta - Ditto the gnocci
Pass Arabic 106 - Doing homework every day, going to class, etc
Become Fluent in Arabic - This is one of the goals that will take the longest for me to complete, I'm sure, but taking classes helps.
Keep the kitchen meticulously clean for 14 days - This is sort of cheating, because my mom's here, and for some reason wants the kitchen to be perfectly clean, so she cleans it. Still, it's happening.
Pay off credit card debt - Every two weeks, a little bit more. Not using them toward food, which is a big help.
Learn to use two firearms with decent accuracy - I need to define "decent accuracy." I was doing better (in my opinion) than a guy who's been shooting for most of his life, so does that count?
Grow a successful vegetable garden - Got the garden planted, just have to help it be "successful."
Play in 6 new LARPs - The first of six happens this weekend!
Run a D&D game - Two weeks from now I will be running a game for two weeks.
Read 30 new books - 2 down, 28 to go, and 3 in process
Have parents visit Delaware - My mother's here, now we just have to find a way to get my dad to visit. Might take a while.
So that's what's going on. I'm trying to keep busy, and it's not hard with work, class, and this list.
If you see anything on my list that you can help with, be it through advice or something else, please feel free to speak up. I always look forward to any help I can receive.
