Today, my amazing girlfriend Maria decided that instead of ordering a new computer, or perhaps building one from parts, we were going to go to the store, and we were going to do everything within our power to have a new computer by the time we got home. Of course, we knew that in buying a new computer we would need to purchase a new desk for said computer, a new monitor, and probably a better graphics card than whatever it had in it so that I could actually play the Jedi Academy game I purchased earlier this year. I was, of course, devastated to find out that our old computer couldn't run it.
So, we embarked upon this quest at right around noon. Jumping from store to store, searching for the perfect computer to fit our needs, we finally decided that going back to the first store and purchasing the first machine we seriously considered would be a good idea. Of course, I rolled my eyes, grumbled a bit, and shrugged, because I had known this would happen when we left the store in the first place, but I was okay with that: I was getting a computer.
Of course, the computer we wanted was out of stock. Of course. By now it was almost four thirty. Yes, that's right, we had been searching for a computer, getting the proper parts, and buying a new desk for over four hours! Part of this was a mistake on my part, resulting in a return to one store to return an item, but lets not dwell on placing blame here.
To make this story shorter, let me tell you that I am right now typing on this new keyboard that came with this new computer, and looking at the new flat-screen LCD monitor that we purchased. Granted, I'm not sure I like the flat screen because it makes some things look weird, and we have to return it anyways because there's a broken pixel on it (Maria's going to be using this computer for web design, so a broken pixel really is a big deal when trying to get things just right), but considering everything that could be wrong, that's really not that big of a deal. We're going to try simply swapping it out even though I have issues with the waviness because it could just be a defective screen, but if it's still as horribly wavy as it is now (okay, not horribly, but DEFINATELY noticable) then I'm going to push to get a different monitor.
So, here I am, on my new computer, realizing that I have an update to do tonight with my Ghost Hunting 101 course. Any suggestions for what you'd like to hear? Make 'em quick!

Yes, some LCD monitors are just yucky. Newer expensive ones aren't that bad, and some are finally making me somewhat of a fan, but for years I haven't been able to stand those things...
