The pickle dipped in chocolate sounded gross, but since I wasn't there for that I guess it's not my place to judge.
Went out to Saigon Bangkok last night with friends as a part of our semi-monthly tradition of Dinner Club. Friends from out of town, Brett (known as TT here) and his wife Becky, were able to drive over an hour to join us, which was exciting!
Dinner was very nice, the food and company, mixed with the pleasant atmosphere provided by the restaurant all made for a good night. A few of our guests were unable to show up, so the table I had reserved was more than big enough for the seven of us, and a few of us have had similar cuisine similar to the Thai and Vietnamese dishes that were offered, so suggestions on what to eat for those of us that didn't know what we were getting into were plentiful.
After our fine dining experience, we opted to do Dairy Queen. Ah, Dairy Queen, how I love your cheap yet satisfying soft serve ice cream. Yay!
Becky and Brett hung out for a while after dinner, and we talked. It was really nice. We got to know Becky a bit better, and Brett and I barely talked about stuff that left the girls out of the conversation. Honestly! We only talked about LARPing and stuff for about half the time, which for us is really good!
Hopefully next month will be as fun. There will be new people dining with us, and we'll be most likely doing Indian food, which is a new experience for almost all of us. I love new experiences, and am definately looking forward to this.
I thought it was a fantastic night, and hope that everyone else feels the same.
But yeah, the pickle-chocolate thing? Freaky.
