I'm using my old computer to type this up. This isn't because my new, better, computer is broken or anything. Instead, it's for a good reason.

The new computer, which was purchased to be my gaming computer and whatever I wanted it to be, is now hooked up to my 50 inch screen projection* television.

I'm going to go play Halo now, huge-ified.

Whoo!

*Yes, I'll be careful. No, I don't need to hear about the horrible things you've heard from your cousin's uncle's brother's college roommate about his best friend's sister's grandfather's projection tv when mixed with video games/computers. Thanks though, I appreciate the caring.

Hehe, my brother and I played Halo and Halo 2 on his 60" TV.
It was kind of old and burned in (it was a K-Mart TV, so "Blue Light Special" was burnt in a little), but once you got past that, it was cool :)

The only thing I'll warn about is... well... don't finish the whole game in one sitting like we did... that's just way too much time to play all at once!

I would probably try to do that, if I had the time and if I was actually good enough to do it. I've only really gotten to the part where you first jump on-board the alien ship. Yeah, really, I'm only that far, and will probably start over just to get a feel for it again.

I mean, I don't even know what "The Flood" that I keep hearing about means/is. :)

Halo 2 on XBox is one of the very few reasons I would consider getting a Devil Machine. Heh.

While it's cool to see games on large screens, if it ain't a HD set, you'll be looking at a max res of 480, no?

800, thank you very much. :p

The set is HD, but I don't know how to hook it up properly to get that at this point. I'm assuming there's a way, and I'm sure a quick Google search, or something similiar, would yield help on how to do it, but at the moment I'm happy with my S-Video and my less-than-perfect-but-still-huge-and-awesome resolution. :)

I imagine a coax connection would get you HD resolution. Same with component video. I don't know if a simple analog composite RCA connection will get you there.

We use an HDMI cable to get a purely digital video connection to our set from our sat receiver, but use component video from the X-Box 360 to the set.

Problem, of course, is that your video card would need to support those outputs. Not sure if there is a composite->component video converter out there; if there is, I'd imagine you'd get some sort of quality degradation.

Still, you're looking at it on a big television, so that's always a plus!
