Recipes the Wrong Way?

Dear allrecipes.com,
I think you're a fantastic site, and I love using you to help me find delicious meals to plan out for my loved ones. The beef jerky recipe deserved all four and a half stars that it had, and you've always been a help when I need simple recipes for simple things like pesto to add my own flair to and alter exactly how I want it.
But, for the record, I have a beef.
Telling me that you can help me find recipes that will cook "quicker than it takes time to make up [my] mind" is great! So I followed the link marked "Dinner in an Instant," hoping for some great, quick, recipes.
Including in those 10 recipes only two recipes that take under 30 minutes to cook makes me think you're trying to say something about my cognitive abilities. The fact that out of those over half-hour cook-time recipes, 3 take over 45 minutes, makes me think you have a problem with how long it takes me to make up my mind.
So look; if you have something to say, just say it to my face. Stop this passive-aggressive bullshit, okay?
Thanks,
~JFargo

Date: 2006-12-14 05:58 pm (UTC)That reminds me of some snooty chef-types criticizing Rachel Ray's 30-minute Meals because they actually take longer than 30 minutes to prepare and cook.
She had to defend herself by saying one has to do the prep (cutting veggies, measuring, etc.) ahead of time BEFORE the cooking actually happens. After everything is laid out and ready, the timing starts so it includes the mixing, grilling, baking, spreading, plating, etc. only.
Two Things

2) Recipes being what they are, just don't order from Taco Bell. ;)
The above message has been brought to you by your friendly Alaskan Health Expert (even though I'm an expert, I don't follow my own advice).

Date: 2006-12-14 09:39 pm (UTC)Now they've found horrible sicknesses like this in lettuce, spinach, carrots, and some things I know I'm missing. Hmm. Guess I'm about as safe no matter what I eat.
As long as I don't go to Taco Bell. (Something I don't do anyways.)
Thanks for the heads-up though.
