There was someone here that I read, and I can't remember who it was, who was righteously outraged by grown ups masquerading as a 13 year old boy to trick, taunt, and tease a local teen girl. It ended when, after making her think that this fictional boy was in love with her, they, through this disguise, told her they were breaking up, and that "the world would be a better place without [her]." She committed suicide.

At the time, the courts had no idea what to do, and there was even talk of doing nothing

This post is to let you know that something has been done, on a federal level.

Wow. Conspiracy? That's a 10-20 year sentence in California. Looks like it's a 5-10 in Missouri.

I remember when that happened. I don't know if I posted about it, but I sure read a lot about it.

I cannot wrap my mind around someone being so evil.

I am very glad to hear that she was indicted, but that must be scant comfort to the family of that poor child!

5-10 doesn't really compensate for a loss of life, does it?

Many would argue that life in prison doesn't compensate for the loss of a life.

That was, in part, my point.

An indictment is a start. Hopefully she will be convicted.

I agree, and I know it's just a start, but considering at one point they were saying "no crime has been committed that we can prosecute," it's a good start.
