Tomorrow is our first day trip out of the State of Delaware. It is widely said that Delaware is the state to live in when you want to have to go somewhere else to find something to do, and while I believed it before moving here, I really believe it now.

So, bright and early tomorrow, we'll be dropping the dogs off at daycare, grabbing a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich, and driving out to Baltimore, MD, to visit the Aquarium! I'm wicked excited.

Yes, I'm so excited that I just reverted into my 5-year-old self and said "wicked."

First, I've never been to Maryland, so it'll be another state visited, which is cool. Second, I've never been to an aquarium of this size, so that's really neat too. Thirdly, we're going to an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet for lunch.

What? I'm a food guy, and food being good helps me rate something as a good time. All-you-can-eat seafood is just about heaven for me.

Anyone in the Baltimore area that can give some local things to see or avoid? Anyone in that area that wants to meet us for lunch? Email me before 8 AM tomorrow, or you'll miss me!

Now I just have to figure out where our day trip is going to be next month. Maria planned this one for this month, and since we're trying to do one a month, I get to plan the next one. I'll figure something out, I'm sure!

Out of curiosity, you don't see the irony in spending the day at the aquarium, followed by a seafood buffet?

I was vaguely amused. /shrug

Oh, believe me, it's hilarious. :)

We're going to go see the pretty animals, and then eat them!

Except, for lunch. Then we'll go back and see more of the pretty things we ate!

Though, for the record, there probably won't be any shark, or dolphins. Lots of crab though. Lots. I wonder how many crab I can eat in an hour. Mmmm... *drools*

If you want amusing irony - eat at the seafood restaurant at Epcot. One of the restaurants wall is the aquarium. So you're chowing down on fish as they swim on by.

Hey, you guys can have a wonderful day, without ever leaving the Inner Harbor area! There's the science museum for the kid in ya, Fort McHenry for tall ships & maybe a submarine, an art museum if you're interested, Little Italy for eats/desserts ... have a really good time

I double dog dare you to wear one of those lobster bibs while you walk around the aquarium. Bonus points if you walk around with a knife and a fork too. ;)

I SO wish we hadn't finished with the aquarium before lunch, because I was going to do this, and have Maria take my picture. We both thought it was a hilarious idea!

Have fun!
I am not from Baltimore, but there are neat things around the Aquarium area, like shopping stuff.

Oh, and Fort McHenry is nifty, but it is not exactly right on top of that area of the harbor. It's where the Star Spangled Banner was written. XD

The Baltimore Aquarium is a pretty decent one. Are you going to Phillips to eat? They serve fairly decent seafood. I think we ate at the Hard Rock when we went to the aquarium.

We looked at Phillips Buffet, and weren't impressed. Then we sauntered over to Phillips, and the line was really long, plus the prices for what we wanted were a little high for us.

I know, it's a tourist area, what was I expecting?

We ended up going to Rusty Scupper, and it was okay. No wait, and a good view, which were nice benefits.

Yeah, the Phillips Buffet isn't anything to write home again.

Then again, most seafood buffets are pretty poor. I always stay away from them. Phillips Restaurant is decent.

And just what the hell is wrong with "wicked?" It's a synonym for "very," and quite appropriate to express enthusiasm.

It's an okay term, but hearing an adult say it usually brings odd looks. I'm okay with odd looks, but normally my language isn't what drives them my way.

Weird looks from plebeians, maybe . . .

It's a perfectly serviceable word.
