Maria's parents left for Florida this morning after a nice two day stop to visit us. Unlike most times they come to visit, we actually had something to do with them on both days. This meant that instead of sitting across the table from one another, staring blankly at one another with nothing to say, we all got to go to the SPCA and play with the 120 lb baby Roscoe.
Think I've mentioned Roscoe enough? Getting bored of hearing about the big guy? Well, he's been dominating my life lately. Even with visitors from out of state we went there twice a day both days to help tire him out, get him outside, and train him a little bit. Thankfully Maria's parents are dog lovers, so it wasn't a problem, and they got to see me dragged on the ground by a giant dog.

Yeah. Good times.
Trying to find the big guy a home is difficult because he has no training beyond what I've been teaching him, and even that's being subverted when other people come over to play with him. I teach him that hands and arms aren't toys, they wrestle with him and put their arms in his mouth because they think it's funny. I teach him to be good on a leash, they teach him to play with the leash.
120 pound dog tugging on the leash is NOT a good thing.
I'm frustrated, and sad, but generally hopeful. He's a sweet dog, big and dopey, with just a little bit of wildness to him that can be worked out with a little love. Even Maria's parents, not fans of big dogs, think he's a wonderfully friendly big guy. He just needs a good home.
Any suggestions?
