Sore throat, congestion, achy feeling all over. When I cough it feels like somebody is trying to shove a porcupine through my chest from the inside out. The fever of 100.6F confirms it; I'm sick.

Some hot tea and a nice hot shower helped clear up my congestion, for about a minute. If I want to keep my chest pain free, I'm going to have to suck down hot tea with honey every 5 minutes or so, and judging from the caffeine rush I got last night due to a few cups of tea, I just can't do that.

Maybe I'll just sit in the shower all day? Laptops are water-proof, right?

Try ginger or mint tea with honey. Same decongesting properties, but no caffeine. Slippery elm tea - if you can find it - is actually a cold remedy. Try the local health food store, look for Yogi Teas. (They have 'em at Stop & Shop now too.)

There is a line of herb teas by Traditional Medicine. The 'breathe easy' and the 'gypsy cold care' are amazing when you are sick and taste great with honey (no caffeine)!

So long as you don't get them wet, yeah.
