These people have a voice-over on their site that you can't turn off. It starts every time you reload a page; an ad for the company that owns the website you're viewing. That's right, as you're looking at their pricing and services, they are trying to sell you over your speakers. You're already there!

I was going to send a polite email to them and tell them that this could be driving away business, and at the very least is driving me away, that I couldn't even be bothered to continue looking through their site, because it annoyed me that much. Then, as I got halfway through politely suggesting ways to handle this (things like including a "turn sound off" button would be perfect) the ad says something along the lines of "We take to heart the phrase 'You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.'" I laughed, because they had already lost that chance with me.

Then, as I was including something about how ironic that was in the email I was writing (because, honestly, I was starting to not care so much and was feeling a little snarky) the voice over said "please continue to hold and one of our specialists will be right with you."

They were playing their hold "music" over their website.

Oh. My. God.

I ended the email with a "never mind. After what I just heard, I realized you're hopeless."

EDIT: The owner wrote back to politely tell me that they were removing the audio, and that "maybe next time {I} shouldn't be so rude." He was a nice enough guy, so I wrote back a quick "You're right, sorry. Thank you for taking my thoughts into consideration."
