Not sure how positive the weight and measurement results are going to be of my working out (I'm better than when I began, but hit a barrier, recently), but I know that doing 20 minutes of jogging this morning, plus 30 minutes of simple stepping tonight is something that I couldn't have done this easily a month ago.

So, I'm seeing results. My mother pointed out a while ago some Swiss study that basically states that a healthy fat man (essentially, a fat guy who can do lots of physical activity) is better off than an unhealthy skinny guy (skinny, but gets winded going up the stairs kind of thing). Seems sort of silly, I know, but I'll be happy if I stay fat but have lots of stamina and energy.

Focus

Okay, here's the three foci in my life right now, aside from "good marriage, nice house, etc." I'm talking the Big Stuff (TM).

1. Get in shape.
~I think I want to be a runner, or long-distance. I don't know why, but I love the idea of looking back at where I am now and thinking "How did I get here?"

2. Master a second language.
~I have free college through Maria, so why not use it and do something that I can eventually turn into a job? I LOVE language, especially foreign languages, so this semester I'm going to try learning Arabic. If that doesn't work (I think it will) then I'll move on to something else.

3. Turn LARP USA into the largest LARP-related building material supplier in the United States.
~No, really. I just got an awesomely huge order for Plastazote (a sword-making material) that rekindled my thoughts on doing this. The move to Delaware had severely hampered things before, but I really think I've figured out how to do this without any problems or issues what-so-ever.

I've done this before, and it's always helped me find my way to the end results I'm looking for. Putting my goals out there with an expected end date helps me push myself because while I know nobody here would fault me for not meeting my own goals (we all fall down sometimes) having my success or failure open to the world is still a great way of using perceived peer pressure.

So, starting today and ending July 14th, 5 weeks from today, these are the 5 goals that I will be attempting to attain. Every day I'll do at least one thing to move forward in these results.

1) Wear size 36 pants
~Better than a weight-loss goal because it's tangible in a different way.

2) Be able to make a perfect pizza
~This includes the crust, sauce, shape, and cooking time.

3) Participate in a weekly D&D group as DM at the local game shop with 4 to 6 players.
~I play in a game, but need to stretch my imagination a little more, as well as the fact that this will help me meet new people.

4) Can sauces/pickles/jams made from home-grown foods.
~This involves many different things, but mostly learning how to can things and keeping my garden in good shape.

5) Fully price out planned upgrades for home, determine what I can do myself.
~This includes adding a pool, adding a room where our carport is now, blowing out two walls to make rooms bigger, removing the oil tank, upgrading to electric heat, removing the other oil tank, adding a bathroom, changing around the kitchen, pushing the kitchen into the dining room, removing the current furnace, and many much smaller projects.

This should be fun.
